  1. Download and install java 8: https://www.java.com/download/ie_manual.jsp

  2. Make sure the latest jdk is installed on your computer for your specific operative system. Head over to https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/downloads/#jdk18-windows and install the "x64 Installer" for Windows. You can switch to macOS and Linux in the small tabs above

  3. The application will be wrapped up as a zip-file and includes the executable .jar file which itself contains everything a computer would need to run the application. The zip-file also includes the README.md file and the user manual.
